The Impressive New 2023 Mazda CX-50
July 21 2022,
The 2023 Mazda CX-50 is a brand-new model to join the Mazda lineup, where it fits in between the CX-5 and the CX-9 to offer a more sophisticated and adventurous option to buyers of compact SUVs.
Two trim levels
The 2023 Mazda CX-50 is available in two well-equipped trim levels that make it easier to choose the best combination of equipment and price for everyone. The entry-level GS-L comes standard with many features that are only optional on competitors, such as the all-wheel drive system, the selectable drive modes, the wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and the power tailgate. Other standard features include the 10,25-inch infotainment display, the heated front seats and steering wheel as well as the panoramic sunroof. Stepping up to the GT model adds the ventilated front seats, the heated rear seats, the leather upholstery, the head-up display, the rear cross-traffic alert, and the 360-degree camera system, among many others.
Two engine choices
The 2023 Mazda CX-50 also gives the choice of two engines to better suit a wider variety of drivers. For the maximum level of efficiency, the standard engine is a 2.5L four-cylinder unit that features cylinder deactivation technology in order to save fuel on the highway. This engine delivers 186 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque to all four wheels via the standard six-speed automatic transmission and i-Activ all-wheel-drive. For even more power, the GT version can add a turbo to this engine in order to boost output up to 256 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque when using 93 octane fuel.
A unique design
No matter which version is chosen, the 2023 Mazda CX-50 benefits from a distinctive style that makes it stand out from other compact SUVs by giving it a level of refinement that is rarely seen in this class. In addition to its sophisticated side, the styling of the CX-50 also highlights its adventurous character by adding plastic cladding around the wheel arches to protect the paint when driving off-road.
