2020 Mazda CX-30 vs. 2020 Hyundai Venue

The new Mazda CX-30 subcompact SUV makes its introduction in 2020 with features that are gaining plenty of attention across Canada. The CX-30 is about outstanding power, performance and capabilities that get you where you want to go and are ready to stand up to the competition. Here, we compare the 2020 Mazda CX-30 to the 2020 Hyundai Venue.

The groundbreaking CX-30 begins with exterior dimensions that enhance performance and expand interior volume. The overall length of 4,395 mm is much longer than the Venue’s 4,040 mm, and this puts the Venue at a size disadvantage that impacts interior volume.

The 2020 Mazda CX-30 leaves the Venue behind with significant power and AWD

The CX-30 features two exciting engine options. The GX trim is well-equipped with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine that generates 155 hp and a responsive 150 lb-ft of torque. The GX offers both FWD and AWD. The GS and GT trims include a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine that produces 186 hp and 186 lb-ft of torque. The Venue offers a 1.6L four-cylinder engine that generates only 121 horsepower and 113 lb-ft of torque. The CX-30 has the upper hand in terms of power and handling.

Every CX-30 is equipped better to handle Canada’s seasons and road conditions with standard AWD on the GT model (optional elsewhere). AWD is not available in the Hyundai Venue lineup, which limits road surface capabilities. The CX-30 incorporates Mazda’s i-Active AWD technology to deliver torque where it’s needed. This makes driving more fun on dry road surfaces and safer when conditions turn slick.

The CX-30 is the right vehicle to have when you need power and performance.

The 2020 Mazda CX-30 is a lifestyle vehicle

The CX-30 builds in plenty of room to haul cargo that meets your lifestyle, whether it’s sports, hiking, family vacations, and much more. The CX-30 provides 1,280 litres of capacity behind the front row, which surpasses the Venue’s capacity by 132 litres. That’s plenty of room for many activities while providing extra storage.  When the rear seats are up, the CX-30 offers 217 more litres of capacity than the Venue.
