The Skyactiv-Drive 6-speed automatic transmission features manual-shift mode and Drive Selection switch. Most models also include standard paddle shifters so you can have more input over each journey.
The Sorento has a naturally aspirated engine in most trims, it only delivers 191 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque. The more expensive turbocharged option is also a 2.5 litre. It delivers a little bit more power than the CX-9’s engine, but it is down on torque. The torque is what gives the CX-9 better response and accelerations. The more expensive is also down on power and torque, with only 227 hp and 258 lb-ft.
Moreover, the Mazda CX-9 is equipped with the advanced i-Activ AWD system, which is one, if not the best AWD system in the industry. It is also fitted with G-Vectoring Control Plus, which gives the driver more confidence on the road. The Sorento uses a less competent system, which can become a problem especially in the winter.
