2021 Mazda3: More driving pleasure, same all-wheel drive capability

Introduced two years ago, the Mazda3 remains one of the most interesting options in the compact sedan segment with its impressive driving dynamics, remarkable efficiency, and available i-ACTIV all-wheel drive system. The new 2021 Mazda3 takes what we love about the new-generation Mazda3 and returns with the same convincing arguments to put one in your driveway.

Let’s have a look at everything there is to love about the 2021 Mazda3 available in both sedan and Sport hatchback form.

Fuel Economy Continues to Stand Out

The Mazda3 comes standard with a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder SKYACTIV-G engine that delivers 155 horsepower and 150 pound-feet of torque paired with either a six-speed manual gearbox or a six-speed automatic. In either case, you get more power than average along with a fuel economy rating as low as 8.8 liters per 100 kilometers in the city and 6.6 liters per 100 kilometers on the highway. You won’t find a more powerful compact sedan or hatchback with better fuel economy.

If you want even more power, turn to the 2021 Mazda3’s 2.5-liter, four-cylinder SKYACTIV-G engine with 186 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque. This engine can be paired with a six-speed manual which, again, is an exclusivity in the segment.

And then this year, Mazda did what Mazda does best: it took its most powerful engine and put it under the hood of the new Mazda5 2.5 turbo. Delivering 227 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque with regular fuel, this is car that shines in every possible way and delivers a truly unique driving experience.

Every 2021 Mazda3 has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and an 8.8-inch touchscreen housing the Mazda Connect infotainment system. Options such as heated seats and a heated steering wheel, dual-zone climate controls, leather seats, 18-inch wheels, and the i-ACTIVESENSE active safety technology package are available.

As stated previously, you can also add i-ACTIV all-wheel drive to the Mazda3, making it one of the most impressive cars in the segment. Few compacts offer AWD which, as most Canadians know, dramatically improves driving performance and safety in winter.
